Sapno Ki Udan

This awareness programme was organised by the support of Proctor & Gamble and Arushi Foundation in 48 villages. The programme focused on 3000 adolescent girls in the age group of 12 – 19 years. Awareness was raised on hygiene and cleanliness amongst the girls, their mothers and other women in their families improve hygiene and cleanliness. The girls were empowered so that they can take collective action against unhealthy clothing and for using sanitary pads.

Output of the programme

  • Awareness raised amongst 3000 girls on cleanliness, hygiene, best practices, and gender equality by the health department.
  • Around 1500 adolescent girls have begun using sanitary pads in 3 blocks.
  • Awareness was raised amongst 1055 women on hygiene and sanitation, and they were weaned off from using dirty clothes.
  • Distributed sanitary pads amongst 1500 school and college going girls.
  • Government officials of health department (CMO) addressed the girls and women on health, sanitization, cleanliness, and hygiene.
